General description

This store is an online retailer, offering an array of home and furniture items. The best seller being the Chunky Knit Blankets.

It is the perfect opportunity for anybody looking to acquire an already successful store, with incredible opportunity for scaling up and improving profit margins.

I am a university student from the UK and will soon be going into my final year studying Marketing so I do not have time to give this business the attention it deserves as I also have 2 other stores that I have taken into multiple 6 figures over the last year.

Financials and traffic

The store has generated $45,625 since its launch on the 14th January 2018 and the best selling product generated another $10,000 in revenue in December, however this was on another store before I moved the product into a more brand and niche focused store. Leaving the total for this period (4 months) at around $55k.

This was generated by an extremely healthy return attributed to paid Facebook advertising which totaled $15369.03 for the period.

COGS came in at $27,707.50 as there is generally a 2x markup on all of the products sold. This is something you could of course play with to maximize profitability.

Therefore the final profit for the 4 month period (December - April) was: 55k Revenue - 15k Adspend - 28k COGS = $12k profit.

Thus yielding a healthy, $3k profit per month at almost a 20% profit margin.

Q & A

Do you work with any employees, freelancers, or contractors?

I have 2 virtual assistants that work for my drop shipping business helping to manage customer service and fulfill orders.

Why should someone buy this store?

This store has incredible scaling and growth opportunity. Basic Facebook targeting via interests is all it has taken to bring in a flurry of visitors (15,594) at current count. And the revenue generated so far is simply from front end traffic with no upsells, retargeting or even abandoned cart emails! I have been extremely lazy here as i would usually build out all of these systems, but i am simply too busy to take this on with another store as i already have 2 highly performing stores that take up the majority of my attention.

Averaging around $10-12k monthly sales on front end Facebook traffic alone is excellent for a new store, this is bringing in many new customers that can be marketed to in the future. The Wheelio app would also collect 10% of visitors emails which would be great to grow the mailing list and really connect with current customers and to retarget the people that didnt buy.

How can the future owner improve the business?

I have only ever used front end traffic from facebook to acquire visitors.

Therefore, the amount of improvements to be made on the store are incredible. Each one would improve the profitability of the store and also help the longevity of the drop shipping business model.

Here are a few examples I can think of, of methods a future owner could utilise to improve the business:

  • Retargeting.
  • Abandoned Cart email.
  • Email marketing: - Welcome Email series to new subscribers - Upsell and cross sell products to customers that did not purchase but joined the email list.
  • SEO.
  • Google ads.
  • Pinterest ads.
  • Branding.
  • Influencer marketing.
  • Improving landing pages.
  • Conversion rate optimisation

What work have you put into the store?

I created the store using one of my favourite themes (Ecom Turbo) which costs $97.

I added some products via Oberlo from Aliexpress and advertised them via Facebook.

I also created the branding for the store in order to compliment the color scheme of the overall website.

How many hours does it take to run this business per week?
