AllyJay Pet Designs is a pet accessory company. We develop, manufacture, design, and market high-end, unique pet products and accessories suitable for personalizing - primarily monograms. Our goal is to bring a level of quality and Southern style to pet wearables not seen in this industry. When we first started this company 4 years ago, no one was focusing on monogramming pet products. Most companies personalizing pet products were only using with the pet's name. Our goal is to make products that reach people who are looking for something unique and personalized for their pets.
We set out to create a brand that comes along beside many clothing companies. Our logo and photography is designed to create a following of customers who will want their pets to live a certain "lifestyle". Our initial tagline was "Bringing Preppy to a Whole New Species" and our current one is "Leader of the Pack in Southern Style".

We made our products as we needed them, so we stayed in the black most of the time and have no debt at this point.
The pet industry is at around 50 billion and growing! This company is set up and ready to go with a good base of customers-retail and wholesale. It just needs someone with drive, know-how and some investment money to spend on advertising. We never spent any money to advertise our site, which is why our sales were so low. We had finally gotten to a place where we were ready to go borrow money and go for it. But personal reasons kept us from going any further. In addition, we also have a product that that's patentable. This would be a separate opportunity outside of selling our website, we would be happy to discuss with you. We also have a few wholesale customers that were buying from us outside of Shopify, so those sales don't show up on our totals on Shopify. AllyJay Pets is a great concept that's ready to go for the right person!
How can the future owner improve the business?
Advertise. All of the business we gained in the 4 years we were in business was done through working social media. We would recommend paying bloggers, paying to boost post, invest in SEO and do some online advertising. There is also opportunity for growth in the wholesale retail store market.
What work have you put into the store?
I am a graphic designer, so I designed the logo and website and did most of the photography. My business partner did the sales and financial side. We had interns that ran our social media. Some custom coding was done to make the customization part of the ordering process better.

I'm a graphic designer with over 30 years of experience in designing logos and advertising for small to medium-sized businesses. After co-owning AllyJay, I now have a passion for designing unique pet products. I would be happy to discuss future ideas with the next owner and my vision for just how far this could go.
My business partner, Allison has experience in sales and marketing. The idea to create monogrammed pet products was hers. Together, we built this unique company.
