General description

Haven't been operating since October '17. No time to manage the store, Facebook page, etc. Info below!

What is included in the sale? Domain + Shopify account configured with all necessary plugins for a turnkey business. Email List: 82,500+ opted in. Facebook Page: 164,000+ followers. Instagram Account: 1,700+ followers. Supplier/Product list set up in shopify with 180+ products. All advertising assets (images, gifs, templates, etc) Gmail account for customer service. You'll simply need to set up an AliExpress account to use my products and suppliers and you're good to go.

What is required to keep the business operational? It does a handful of organic sales a week through search engines, but a majority of the traffic came from Facebook Advertising, Newsletters, Facebook Page promos, etc. You'd need to start emailing the list again, posting to the facebook page, and put up some advertisements on your preferred ad channel to get it rolling again. Why are you selling the business?

Facebook Ads started taking a majority of my time beginning in May. Largely, I've lost interest in continuing the business and have grown other side businesses into enough to keep me busy full-time and provide enough income. Rather than letting it die, someone could come in and take over and return it to a profitable business without too much effort.

What marketing initiatives have been used for this business? Facebook Page, Paid Ads (Facebook), Instagram. I also added new items on a weekly basis and emailed out the list with a discount code.

Charts don't look great because I stopped advertising in October. Here's some breakdown of revenue:

Nov 16 $9,167

Dec 16 $13,774

Jan 17 $12,548

Feb 17 $23,002

Mar 17 $24,934

Apr 17 $17,346

May 17 $17,659

Jun 17 $15,149

Jul 17 $12,487

Financials and traffic

I'm not listing these "perks" as revenue, but they should certainly be considered. I ran all of my Facebook advertising through Amex Gold Business which offers 3x points on "Online Advertising" which Facebook qualifies for. I ran all of my product costs through CitiBank Double Points which gives 2% back on all purchases. Finally, I used a combination of affiliate programs to earn upwards of 8% commission on all AliExpress purchases.

Here's the breakdown:

Amex Points: 525,995 - redeemed at Amazon.com = ~$3,680 AliExpress Portal Commissions: $1,135.52 EPN.Bz Cashback Commissions: $1,144.39

Business Expenses

Subscription costs includes plugins such as Oberlo and others that aren't necessary to operations.

Advertising costs are completely variable depending on your approach. I've spend anywhere from $200/day to $1000/day between 2016 and 2017.

Q & A

Why should someone buy this store?

A lot of potential by simply adding a few new items, starting up a fresh advertising campaign and going for it.

How can the future owner improve the business?

Starting a fresh new ad campaign is crucial. Find methods of targeting new customers in creative ways. Simply targeting women who like "astrology" + "jewelry" and their specific zodiac sign worked very well for over a year, but recently it's taken more time to get creative to get cheaper clicks from Facebook. There are a lot of ways to make it work.

What work have you put into the store?

Facebook Ads Newsletters to the email list. Facebook page promos. Some organic traffic (ranks for various astrology jewelry terms).

I was also adding 5-10 items a week to the store for a long time to keep interest fresh and sales coming in.
