This listing is for a business that includes 3 Shopify stores, plus an additional landing website for the company. Each site is targeted toward schools/educational customers, so buyers with existing customer/client lists in the educational sector could really have quick success adding these sites to their portfolio. Schools and school districts will start buying a lot of equipment in June, July, and August, so the sales potential is immediate for new ownership.

Each of the stores features over 1,000 products in their respective categories and educational customers have needs on all three sites, so the potential for overlap is large. I do a number of sales directly through our site and on Amazon, but our biggest orders are processed outside of Shopify via purchase orders with schools. While it can take a little longer to get paid that way, these orders are what make the business so lucrative. School purchase orders are typically between $400-$2,000, but we have had sales that exceed $10,000 as well.

This business was started as a hobby a little over a year ago. At that time, I intended it to be a part-time venture that generated some side income. I had noticed an opportunity in the educational market, particularly in the physical education/athletic equipment category, and decided to test the concept. After only a few months, business began to steadily increase and has been on the rise ever since with very little actual marketing outside of Google Adwords. Given the success of the sports/athletic site, I decided to launch two other sites aimed at the educational customer as well -- safety equipment and science lab supplies. While these sites are much newer and have less sales data, I believe that they each have as much potential for huge growth as the sport/athletic website. As mentioned previously, they are included in any sale of the business.

From the beginning, I have worked with a wonderful drop shipper that has products in each of the three categories in which we specialize. This makes order fulfillment convenient and reliable. However, it is my opinion that a firm with more resources could enhance profits (by a large amount) by working directly with manufacturers for some products, in addition to taking on some inventory.

I am interested in selling the business because I do not have the resources or capital to grow this business as quickly as it can under new leadership that has a sales team, marketing plan, and more industry knowledge. Additionally, I have some new opportunities on the horizon which means I will have less time in the future to nurture this business.

A great deal of time has been put into making these websites user friendly, and I believe that their appearance and user experience is unmatched in their respective industries. My supplier has proven to be a great partner with quality products, and this relationship will transfer to new ownership. I am also very happy to offer any insights and/or suggestions for a buyer with respect to where profit margins could be enhanced, costs saved, new suppliers to work with, etc. I think that this could be a win/win situation for both me and a potential buyer.
