Chadi Baby and Kids has a wide range of products (just over half dropshipped within Australia) that includes pregnancy support pillows, feeding support, newborn bibs and burp cloth, wooden and silicone teethers, silicone jewellery, ride on toys (not all currently listed but all information can be provided for listings), personalised name stands, hair bows, pretend play wooden and plastic kitchens/toys, children's furniture, nursery furniture, nappy bags. We also have a list of potential new suppliers of baby and kids clothing, mobiles and more that we haven't started using as we simply didn't have the time to go through the set up process (this business was more of a hobby to us than relied upon income).
Financials and traffic
We didn't focus greatly on the profit and kept pricing as low as possible for customers. There is definitely room for the prices to be increased and still be competitive with the market. We also didn't advertise a great deal with minimal boosted posts on Facebook and only free advertising on google (spend $25 and a credit of $100 will be applied to the account). We still have a credit of $43 remaining on the google account to be used for future campaigns.

There are minimal expenses for the store as it was ran as a hobby not a business.
(ie. Mailchimp, apps)
(ie. Adwords, Facebook ads, etc.)
Only a small amount of inventory is remaining on hand as most products are dropshipped. The remaining products are bulk ordered either as required or in bulk lots of $100.
The store has most products set up for SEO, with product descriptions, huge range of images and the possibility of adding even more products to the store as not all available products are currently displayed online. The store has a fantastic dropshipper who sends items direct to the customer cutting out the need to have a high number of stock on hand and they do not charge postage for majority of products, giving a higher profit margin. Wide variety of wholesale suppliers available, with only a few currently being used. This means there is great potential for the store to grow or move in a different direction if the owner chooses. The wholesale suppliers only request order minimums of $100 to $150, meaning the owner doesn't have to run the risk of placing a big order at once, especially when first buying the business. We priced products as low as we could afford for customers so there is definitely room to increase pricing and still be competitive within the market.
How can the future owner improve the business?
There is so much potential in this business! We have only ran the business as a hobby, not having to rely on income and spending no more than 1 to 2 hours per week on the store because we just didn't have the time. If someone has the capacity to spend a day or 2 up to a week on focusing on advertising and expanding the store, the profit margin will be significantly bigger.
What work have you put into the store?
All the original set up of products and sourcing ethical suppliers was completed by the owners of Chadi Baby & Kids (we have been the only Business owners since starting in April 2016).
