Daydream Nation is a lingerie and loungewear brand based in Los Angeles. Our focus is comfort with a mix of sensuality and playfulness. Our ethos projects body positivity and everyone is welcome to be a part of the movement.
Financials and traffic
The brand was initially launched at Selfridges in London as well as through Revolve, Nordstrom and Nasty Gal in the USA. Unfortunately the business ran out of funding and couldn't finance all the orders it was receiving. The e-commerce business reflects a very small portion of the brand and profit potential since it was a small focus initially.

This brand was part of our larger company so the overhead was largely non existent for it since it could utilize most fo the internal services. However, our company has since closed.
(ie. Mailchimp, apps)
(ie. Adwords, Facebook ads, etc.)
The business has inventory particularly from wholesale orders it had produced. The inventory is in fantastic condition and only 2 seasons old, however the brand's identity is quite timeless so the inventory is still relevant and sellable even now with the right focus and team. It's a great brand.
The brand has a great aesthetic and energy, it resonates well amongst consumers and has long term potential to outlive trends and fads. Our business didn't have the funding to take this brand to its full potential, even in the short time that we launched it in we managed to break into some of the world's best retail accounts because of its strong aesthetic and branding.
How can the future owner improve the business?
With the right amount of brand focus and marketing in addition to being able to produce new styles the brand will only continue to grow. It just needs a good home with someone who has a vision for its potential.
What work have you put into the store?
The main value is in the brand and brand aesthetic. The identity and name in itself (trademark included) is worth more than the store and inventory. We built the brand up through connecting with influencers and placing it in the right retail stores. Just our product development costs exceed over $ 250,000.00
