Hoop Merch is a high-quality NBA apparel store with shirts, phone cases, sweatshirts,hoodies and over 500 designs. This was my first store and I've been running Hoop Merch for around a year or more now and have put endless hours of work into the brand, content, designs, website, advertising, products ect.

Hoop Merch is a very well converting shop with tons of fb pixel data and loyal customers. I am still very new to Shopify and I think somebody that is sufficient with fb ads can easily scale to bigger numbers.

The store is in an awesome niche with highly passionate customers, and has HUGE UPSIDE.

The supplier handles all of my packaging and shipping (with custom branded shipping materials). Also, the supplier is a print on demand with teelaunch all setup, they cover customer support also.

How can the future owner improve the business?

Leveraging my social media following (~22k followers and growing) by being active on social media and engaging with followers. I have done very little of this - so just some attention here should yield great results

Leveraging my email subscribers (4,800 subscribers and growing) by sending out regular email blasts promoting products, showcasing new products, and running specials/promotions. I haven't leveraged my email list at all.. it's matter of fact that leveraging your email subscribers can be a huge money maker. Big opportunity here for someone to send our regular email blasts

Using other user acquisition/marketing channels. I have only ever used facebook marketing. There are so many other effective user acquisition channels that I haven’t even touched yet - Google Adwords, Amazon, Snapchat, Twitter, SEO, Ad Retargeting, Influencer marketing, etc - I haven’t tapped into any of these channels. I believe investing and experimenting in these channels could have a huge impact on the business in a really short amount of time

Going deeper into social media advertising. I have hardly experimented with my social media ads. There is a big opportunity to expand audience targeting (massive genre) and advertising formats (i.e. videos, in-ad discounts, instagram stories, etc.)

Page optimizations and funnel optimizations. My purchase conversion is around ~3% and add to cart around ~11%. I believe these could be increased with pretty little effort. I have done zero tweaking on my website, product pages, and funnel optimizations. Some basic A/B tests, pop-up box strategies, product page layouts, etc, could go a really long way.

Potentially moving from a dropship model to holding inventory. This would allow for lower costs (purchasing product in bulk/wholesale) and significantly higher profit margins. Though, the trade-off would be having more overhead.

What work have you put into the store?

-Created over 500 unique NBA designs -Professional site paid theme design -Tons of research on audience and building brand -Custom content growing fb and insta pages -Run successful ad campaigns mostly through fb and insta

I built the store from scratch. I curated and sourced all of the products. I did all the product creative (names, descriptions, photos). I created the Hoop Merch brand/logo/identity. I established a strong connection and relationship with an AMAZING supplier who handles all of my packaging, shipping, and FREE customer service.
