HUSKYBEARD Beard Care & Men's Grooming Niche Store

General description

The HUSKY is confident, loyal, & masculine. This is the attitude of the HUSKYBEARD brand, designed for similarly distinguished men. I chose the HUSKY as a mascot because the husky is bold, courageous, and well...likeable to a wide demographic of both men and women. It's not hypermasculinized either, unlike many other beard care niches. Maybe this is why women have converted so easily in sales for the store?

HUSKYBEARD LLC was launched early November 2016 with one simple goal to achieve: to craft excellent beard care & grooming products for proud beardsmen.

Mission: To give men the pleasure of cultivating a beard that is healthier, fuller, and just plain better. Beard care should not be a chore nor a difficulty; it is our mission for our beardsmen to achieve their best beard possible.

Instead of offering a huge catalog of unoriginal products, we only offer a curated, select few in order to focus on quality, intention, and effectiveness. The feeling of receiving your beard care products in the mail and experiencing what great beard care is all about, is what we strive to do.

Offer Details: You are purchasing not only this premium website, but are acquiring all of its assets and inventory, leads, followers and audience, social media accounts, partnerships/relationships, virtual employees/sponsorees, inventory and most importantly the BRAND. This is NOT a dropshipping store. This is a business built to last and grow with the trend of men's grooming (a 21 BILLION DOLLAR industry). Similar competitors produce $1M annual, and one competitor even makes $10M annual. You get the idea hopefully. This is a passionate niche that cannot be catered to with a typical dropshipping store. They have to trust a brand, and once that trust is established, you can expect a high LTV per customer (since they need to keep purchasing products to maintain their beards).

The price listed accounts for all the labor, cultivation, assets, and growth of this brand; the price listed does NOT just account for revenue/profit/sales. You are purchasing a Brand that is built to last for years.

Financials and traffic

Profit fluctuates as all businesses do. The average net profit percentage, per month, is about 25-30% of revenue. While this is the standard Shopify profit margin, the use of organic and free traffic sources can increase this margin significantly.

Business Expenses

Shopify apps cost only about $60, but I've accounted for the $110 monthly cost of having 11,000+ leads in Mailchimp, plus some SEO service I use. I have spent most my time advertising on Facebook, and the costs are getting more and more expensive. I used to spend about $3,000-$5,000 on Facebook ads/month, but recently I've cut down and only spend about $1,500/month. Google Adwords, Bing, Youtube, and Instagram are lucrative platforms of which I have not expanded too much capital in.

The inventory comes with 18 SKU products as well as 500 branded business card/packing inserts and over 4,800+ branded carrying pouches for products like Combs, and Oils.

The net costs of current inventory is over $9,600 which has already been paid for. If you multiplied this cost by 450%, you would get a good estimate of the liquid revenue amount if all inventory was sold at current price listings. This in itself makes this offer quite inexpensive.

Q & A

Do you work with any employees, freelancers, or contractors?

I've spent a year scrambling through partnerships, manufacturers, and employees/freelancers. These guys will do the job. 4 Chinese Suppliers, through Alibaba. 1 Manufacturing Company who provides: Beard Oils, Balms, Shampoos/Conditioners, Waxes, and everything! 1 Fulfillment, Storage, & Shipping Partnership: Shipbob

Team: Hazel - Customer Email Support & Order Management ($250/month) Renan - Social Media Marketing ($250/month) Gart - Excellent Graphic Designer/Brand Visionary (Big Companies pay him in the 5-6 figures for his designs...he only charges me less than $200 typically). Caroline - Accountant, Sales Tax Filer, Bookkeeper (you will probably need to find another person due to your state location) Free for me, her services will not be included in this. Chris - Photographer (Free, I just send him some free beard care products)

Why should someone buy this store?

When you are buying this store, you're also buying the brand and resources accumulated over 1 year's worth of hard work. I know so much about this industry: the community, the scientific research on beards & beard growth, the difference between high quality ingredients vs harmful chemicals, and much more. Several months of beard care research was undergone before I even launched this store. All of this knowledge is spilled out into my blogs, email articles, and copy. You don't have to go through this extensive market, product, and consumer research as hundreds of hours have already been done for you.

Over $500 has been spent towards SEO. Now many of my blogs and product pages are listed in the 1-10 list rankings with search term volumes ranging in the tens of thousands. The content rich blogs is a source of consistent, free revenue.

How can the future owner improve the business?

I believe that the future owner (YOU!) should test different advertising platforms. Free traffic is something that should definitely be looked at. I have just recently launched an ambassador program to have bearded models promote our products in exchange for free products. I believe pushing this ambassador program to more beardsmen can be very good for customer retention and unpaid advertising.

We only have one freelancer managing emails. I would recommend having at least 2 people on customer support.

Finally, our best-selling product is of a wooden beard comb. This wooden beard comb often cracks, due to the nature of wood drying. I believe the solution to this problem has already been achieved with a newly upgraded version of this comb (which I have about 300 inventory of already for you). This newly upgraded version will act as a compensation for customers who report product issues, and I believe the upgraded version should soon replace the original comb entirely so as to avoid any further product issue complaints.

What work have you put into the store?

Like stated above, hundreds of hours of research on this industry, the product selection, and the consumer prospect has already been conducted. I have many documents and spreadsheets that include the business model, Facebook audience interests and segments, market and consumer research, costs of products/ads, goals, scaling solutions, systems, etc. Not to mention the brand HUSKYBEARD and the related domain assets, social media usernames, etc. have all been claimed.

Many months have been spent on finding the perfect partnerships with trusted and hard-working suppliers, freelancers/employees, and custom-formulation manufacturers. The whole team works on this business virtually, and I simply contact them through email/phone.

Our social media is filled with hundreds of posts, along with ambassadors promoting our products on a regular basis. On top of that, a photographer who gives his services in exchange for free beard products.

The design, user interface, mobile compatibility, SEO (alt tags, compression, 1-10 ranking) have been fully optimized.

Dozens of lengthy emails have been written and are sent to my 11,000+ leads. These emails contain rich content, like research, informative blogs, discounts, sales copy, etc.

All of the apps, settings, and page flows have been optimized for high conversion.
