The store is an online supermarket for Malaysian food - such as curry pastes, curry powders, instant noodles, biscuits, snacks etc. Though there are several online supermarket for 'oriental' food', these stores sell Asian food from various countries. This store specialises in only Malaysian food. The business model is based on partially sourcing products from distributors in the UK and also directly from Malaysia. This allows us to operate a streamlined supply chain by focussing on exactly the products customers want.

There has been increasing demand for Malaysian food in the UK as well as in Europe. To date, we have made deliveries to the UK, Denmark and Germany and we have also started receiving queries from Ireland.
How can the future owner improve the business?
The most important thing to grow the business is scale. The demand to date has all been via online searches with minimal marketing - and even so, we have received many reverse enquiries for products. By carrying out further marketing, the future owner can increase the sales. Additionally, investing in a fulfilment delivery service could enhance efficiency.
What work have you put into the store?
We have built a solid customer base with a strong brand (with positive feedback received directly from customers). We have a central data base of all the Malaysian products that is sold in the UK as well as additional products that customers have directly requested for.
