Lasso is a small brand founded by three brothers back in 2013, working off our apartments in the small island of Puerto Rico. We managed to quickly switch to our own little workshop in San Juan where we managed our store. Lasso as a brand is the culminating result of the love we have for our pets, the values of our upbringing and admiration of the sea. This all fueled our desire to create a unique, lovable brand that handmakes rope collars & leashes for pets.

As a family business, we are constantly inspired by each others perspective and knowledge. Our father’s love for knots and his endless inventions have given us a lifelong example. This inherited passion for creativity and craftsmanship has led us to create a beautiful line of comfortable, aesthetic and durable products.

As a small business, we are highly devoted to our craft & to our customers, loving every step of the way since the beginning. With knotting but love for rope and the endless possibilities it presents, we are also always open to new suggestions and ideas from our clients.

Unfortunately, with the passing of Hurricane Maria through the island (and our lives) on September 20, 2017, we have found ourselves unable to keep the store running due to the lack of basic utilities on the island and the loss of some of our inventory. With great regret, we have been forced to figure things out individually and have decided that things on the island are not well enough to continue growing our passionate project.

Why should someone buy this store?

Lasso is a small brand that we started from scratch back in 2013. Little by little, on our spare time, we would put our entrepreneurial hats on and would shape our products and business into a potentially international brand. Since the beginning we always thought of Lasso as something that could become very big one day, hence we've managed to implement systems for potential growth. With an organic following on IG of 30.2k followers (our most prominent social media channel), 5.5k followers on FB & 1.15K followers on Pinterest we have managed to engage a large part of the pet community with our brand. We've built great trust and partnerships with many followers and a very loyal base of clients who have constantly returned to our shop for their dog accessories. Lasso is a brand born out of passion, love, entrepreneurial spirits, humbleness & the desire to offer the best products with the best possible service to our customers. The brand has enormous potential in the pet industry and is young enough to be pushed to success in new and innovative ways.

How can the future owner improve the business?

Lasso is a small e-commerce business that has not yet explored the grounds of traditional retail business. With some wholesale accounts not only in the US but also in Israel, Korea & Mexico, Lasso has a potential to expand to many different places, with the possibility of creating new ways of forming partnerships and alliances. As a next step to growing the business we were highly motivated to start attending Pet Expos and Shows to expose Lasso to bigger audiences. We were also talking with our partners in Mexico, Israel & Korea to expand the brand to an international market. Social Media partnerships is another world that Lasso has yet to take full advantage of. The dog community is growing exponentially on social media channels and Lasso has been there from the beginning with friends that have more than 170k followers and counting. Marketing is also a huge aspect of our business that could be greatly improved to further grow the brand.

What work have you put into the store?

Lasso as a brand is fully functional and we have established efficient systems to manage our order volume and production. We follow standards set from the start to deliver the best quality products with great attention to detail. At Lasso we also believe in retaining a loyal customer base so we have implemented policies that align with our mission. Our greatest marketing has been word of mouth from the beginning, leading to the creation of a faithful clientele. We have dedicated great effort into professionally presenting our products and brand and always do our best to keep high quality standards, always concentrated in delivering a user friendly interface with design oriented results.
