Services for Au Pairs in the United States of America. Customers pay a fee depending on what service they want, such as preparing to be an Au Pair, adapting to their new life in the United States, filing taxes with the IRS, and other options.
There is A LOT of potential to grow revenue by adding an option to sell merchandise of interest to the Au Pair demographic - mostly females from other countries ages 18-25, residing with host parents during a 1-2 year stay in the USA. Easy to target demographic with Google Ads, Facebook, Pinterest, etc. Even easier using drop-shipping to source out merchandise inventory and sales operations with Oberlo or similar drop-shipping service.
I'm selling the store because I'm focusing my time on a different venture that I'm more passionate about.
Target market doesn't have any competition and exceeds 70,000 potential customers with ample disposable income (based on 18,000+ Au Pairs and over 65,000 members of host families in the United States).
a) Au Pairs are mostly females 18-25 years old living with host families including room and board, plus a $865/month cash stipend for personal expenses (read shopping).
b) Host families are affluent younger parents that can afford to pay for the Au Pair program (average cost $20,000/year) to give their children a richer child care experience in the comfort of their home instead of day care.
How can the future owner improve the business?
a) Dedicate more time than I had to market and advertise the business. I honestly didn't put in more than 1hr/week due to my other ventures, though I acknowledge the market potential with NO competition. My focus is elsewhere.
b) Partner with Au Pair agencies in the US to market services to their Au Pairs and host families. All Au Pairs and host families MUST go through an Au Pair agency in the US. The majority of Au Pairs in the US use 4-5 agencies looking for additional revenue channels.
c) Add option to sell merchandise to target demographic. Use drop-shipping to automate merchandise sourcing, management, sales, shipping.
d) Marketing campaign during tax season. Au Pairs must pay taxes and have no idea how to file with IRS as they all come from other countries. Host families have minimal knowledge of whether or how to file taxes for their Au Pairs. They end up paying over $60 to local tax preparers because it's 'a specialized tax topic' when in reality it takes minutes to prepare a tax return for Au Pairs when you know the rules. Easy to automate online so you don't spend any time preparing taxes for your customers.
What work have you put into the store?
a) In addition to the Shopify storefront and social media presence on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest; conducted Google Ads and FB campaigns to acquire over 1,200 followers on FB.
b) Created (but didn't execute) marketing & advertising plans for revenues opportunities yet to be implemented.
c) The ROI for this business opportunity far exceeds 50% for an owner that executes well. I'll provide all intellectual capital resulting from my market research and business plans.
