Prefen Wine Gifts was started in October 2015 after finding people really like fun wine jewelry. The initial testing started with ClickFunnels and I found a lot of interest in necklaces and wine bottle stoppers/pourers.

From that initial interest I started into the build of the Shopify store. While building the store I hired a professional local graphic designer to come up with the branding concept including the color scheme, logo and pattern background.

I've used this professional design as the basis for branding on the site's official Facebook page ([REDACTED] and in email. Speaking of email, I have about 3,500 subscribers for the store on MailChimp. I recently went through and scrubbed any unresponsive emails, so the 3,500 remaining are those that open and read their messages.

The Facebook page has over 8,600 "likes" as a by-product of other promotions. In other words, I have never asked for "likes" on the page so everyone who likes the page has done so organically. These are folks who are genuinely intested in fun wine jewelry and like the content posted to the page.

I designed the business to run on its own as much as possible. It is currently integrated with Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) and some print on demand (POD) shops. I have some of the jewelry and wine stopper inventory at Amazon, with the remainder held in reserve to resupply when necessary.

I have advertised heavily on Facebook, where nearly all the customers for the store have come from. I have not advertised much this year as my attention has been focused elsewhere.

Revenue from the business this year so far is minimal ($1,318), as I have not been promoting the site via email or Facebook recently. My attention has been focused elsewhere. It seems a shame to have this business and community with no attention being paid to it, which has led me to the decision to see it goes to an attentive new owner.

Why should someone buy this store?

This store provides an ideal outlet for those who love wine and the lifestyle around it. It's a great way to put all the wine knowledge to use and share it with others. The community built up on the Facebook page will be happy to see the passion of a true wine lover. The new owner will also get to put that wine passion into fun, new ad creatives and email content that builds relationships with other wine lovers and leads them to become repeat purchases from the store. This will turn that passion into profits.

How can the future owner improve the business?

Email is not my stongest medium. The largest immediate improvement in sales will come from the new owner continuing to build a relationship with the people on the email list and make offers to them. They are a responsive group and deserve to see more content for people who love wine.

What work have you put into the store?

Over the years I have not only put work into professional design and photography for items in the store, but have developed unique designs for Print On Demand (POD) items. I have built up a community on the store's Facebook page that love the content that gets posted there. Much of the stored inventory has been prepped for FBA fulfillment and is ready for the new owner to ship out when ready.
